For those who wish to remember a loved one and do not have or want a regular grave space there is the Garden of Remembrance. Ashes can be scattered within the garden by prior arrangement, any form of burial is not permitted within this area.

Sorry, ashes of pets are not allowed in any part of the cemetery, including the Garden of Remembrance, this is governed by legislation.

Memorials within the garden

Only memorial plaques of a specific type and size are permitted, these are sourced by the burial authority on behalf of the customer and are positioned in an agreed location (in agreement with the cemetery supervisor).

As there is limited space within the garden it is extremely unlikely that you will be able to have a bench or tree dedicated within this area. There is plenty of opportunity to have a bench or tree dedicated within the new section of the cemetery should this be of importance to you. Further details regarding memorials (other than headstones) in and outside the Garden of Remembrance can be obtained from the Clerk to the Burial Committee, the contact details are listed at the bottom of the left hand menu.
