The fees which are charged for the use of Devizes Cemetery are dependant on where the deceased resided at the time of their death. This means that if at the time of their passing they resided within the parish boundaries of Devizes Town or Roundway single fees will apply. If they lived outside these parish boundaries double fees will apply, however there are exceptions to this double fees rule.
To simplify the policy a flowchart outlining the criteria for single and double fees charges can be viewed (in Adobe® Portable Document Format) by clicking on the following link:
Criteria for Single and Double Fee Charges
In 2006 the Devizes and Roundway Joint Burial Committee changed the way it charges for the right to erect a memorial. The new single fee structure allows for a memorial to be erected for a minimum period of 5 years which includes an inspection program. More details regarding memorials can be found on the Memorials and Memorial Inspection Information web pages.
Saturday and Sunday fees are charged at a premium rate, double the local interment fee is currently charged for Saturdays and Sundays. From 1 April 2007 the Sunday rate will increase to triple the local interment fee. These fees may seem high but if the funeral is held on either of these days town council staff have to attend outside of their normal working week.
The current charging policy and fees schedule is available (in Adobe® Portable Document Format) by clicking on the following link:

Please note that the fees laid out in the downloadable schedule do not include funeral arrangement fees. You need to discuss these charges with your chosen Funeral Director.
